During my visit to Porto, one of the highlights was exploring the area surrounding the House of the Prince, or Casa do Infante. Located a mere 0.3 km away from significant landmarks like the Bolsa Palace and Ribeira Square, this historic site offered a wonderful glimpse into the rich heritage of the city. The blend of stunning architecture and cultural significance made it a fascinating stop. The proximity to the picturesque Ribeira Square, with its vibrant atmosphere and stunning views of the Douro River, allowed for leisurely strolls and the chance to savor local flavors in nearby cafes. The nearby Porto Cathedral, only a short walk away at 0.5 km, further enriched the experience with its impressive Gothic structure and panoramic views of the city.
Moving through Porto, the ambiance of Avenida dos Aliados and the tranquil Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, both around 1 km from Casa do Infante, presented a contrasting yet equally appealing experience. Avenida dos Aliados, with its grand architecture and bustling energy, is a perfect place to absorb the city’s modern spirit, while the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal offered beautiful gardens and serene spaces that provided a peaceful escape from the urban hustle. The discovery of gems like Livraria Lello, celebrated for its stunning interiors, and the Church of Saint Ildefonso, known for its beautiful tiles, further enriched my visit. Each landmark, from the historic to the modern, contributed to an unforgettable journey through the storied streets of Porto.
