During my visit to Porto, I was captivated by the grandeur and historical significance of landmarks like the Bolsa Palace and the striking Clerigos Tower, both merely a couple of kilometers away from my base. The Bolsa Palace, with its ornate neo-classical architecture, provided a glimpse into the city's rich mercantile past, while the view from the top of the Clerigos Tower offered a stunning panorama of Porto’s sprawling terracotta rooftops and winding river. I also enjoyed leisurely strolls along Avenida dos Aliados, where the ambient energy of the city is palpable, and each step reveals intricate sculptures and beautifully maintained facades. The nearby Mercado do Bolhão was another highlight—a vibrant market filled with local flavors, fresh produce, and artisan goods, allowing me to truly immerse myself in the vibrant culture of Porto.

As I wandered further afield, I found myself enchanted by the picturesque Cais da Ribeira and the iconic Ponte de Dom Luis I. The riverside area, with its colorful buildings and lively atmosphere, was the perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by. It was incredible to see local families and tourists enjoying the waterfront, with the haunting sound of Fado music often filling the air. Visiting the Monument Church of St. Francis and the Episcopal Palace of Oporto further enriched my experience, as their stunning architectural features and deep history spoke volumes about the region's traditions. My exploration culminated at Livraria Lello, a bookstore that is itself a work of art, drawing book lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike. Ultimately, Porto's welcoming charm and rich tapestry of historical landmarks left a lasting impression on me.
