This lush green space offered a delightful respite from the bustling city, with its meticulously manicured flower beds and shaded pathways perfect for leisurely strolls. I loved how the garden seamlessly blended nature with art, featuring charming sculptures that added a touch of elegance to the scenery. Additionally, the proximity to the Lighthouse of Sao Miguel-o-Anjo, a mere 1 km away, provided a perfect backdrop to my explorations. The lighthouse, standing proudly against the Atlantic waves, exuded a historic charm that resonated deeply with me, further enhancing my appreciation for Porto's rich maritime heritage.
Equally captivating was my visit to the Casa da Música, just 2 km from my base. The architectural brilliance of the concert hall intrigued me, as its unique modern design contrasts beautifully with the traditional facets of Porto. I was mesmerized by the vibrant cultural scene it fostered, with a variety of performances that celebrate both local and international talent. After enjoying a concert, I wandered through the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, about 3 km away, where the panoramic views of the Douro River and surrounding landscape left me in awe.
