Impressions

During my visit to Porto, one of the highlights was undoubtedly the enchanting Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, located just a kilometer from the heart of the city. This expansive garden offers a serene escape from the bustling streets, where I could take leisurely strolls among its beautifully manicured landscapes and vibrant floral displays. The views overlooking the Douro River and the city were absolutely breathtaking, providing countless opportunities for stunning photographs. The tranquil atmosphere, accompanied by the gentle rustle of leaves and the songs of various birds, created a perfect oasis for relaxation and reflection.

Exploring further into Porto, I found myself captivated by the liveliness of Avenida dos Aliados, only 300 meters away. This grand avenue, lined with beautiful architecture and lively cafes, was perfect for people-watching. I relished the energy of the locals and tourists alike, merging seamlessly as they strolled under the majestic columns and historic buildings. Just a short walk from here was the exquisite Livraria Lello, a stunning bookstore famous for its neo-Gothic architecture. The intricate woodwork and spiral staircase made it feel like stepping into a literary fairy tale, and I loved browsing the shelves filled with both classic and contemporary works.

In my exploration of the area, I also cherished visiting the Portuguese Centre of Photography and the nearby Episcopal Palace of Oporto, both about a kilometer away. The Centre of Photography had a fascinating collection that celebrated Portugal’s rich visual history. Meanwhile, the Episcopal Palace, with its impressive architecture, offered a glimpse into the city’s storied past. The close proximity of these landmarks allowed for a delightful day filled with cultural immersion, culminating in a visit to the stunning Clerigos Tower, which provided yet another panoramic view of Porto. Each landmark added a layer to my understanding and appreciation for this vibrant city, making my experience truly unforgettable.
