During my visit to Porto, one of the highlights was undoubtedly the stunning Jardins do Palácio de Cristal. Spanning over 20 acres, these beautifully landscaped gardens provided a serene escape amid the bustling city. The panoramic views of the Douro River and the city’s skyline are simply breathtaking, especially during sunset when the landscape is bathed in golden hues. The garden’s winding paths and vibrant flower beds captivated me, making it the perfect place to unwind with a good book or simply soak in the natural beauty. The nearby attractions, like the iconic Ponte de Dom Luis I, added a sense of historical context to the experience, as I could see its impressive arches spanning the river from the gardens’ vantage points.

Exploring the city’s rich history was equally enjoyable, particularly around the Cais da Ribeira, where the cobblestone streets and colorful buildings create an enchanting atmosphere. Just a short walk from the river, the charismatic ambiance at this waterfront area offered countless opportunities for delightful experiences, from savoring local cuisine to enjoying lively street performances. The stunning Episcopal Palace of Oporto and the nearby Bolsa Palace provided a glimpse into the city’s architectural grandeur, emphasizing its cultural depth. Not to mention, wandering through the historic Livraria Lello was a dream come true for any book lover; the ornate interior and grand staircase felt like stepping into a fairytale. Overall, Porto’s blend of natural beauty and historical landmarks left me enchanted and eager to explore more.
