During my recent visit to Porto, one of the highlights was undoubtedly the scenic beauty and accessibility of the surrounding landmarks. Just a short distance from my accommodation, Douro Cabedelo Beach offered a stunning escape, where I enjoyed long walks along the inviting shoreline. The gentle waves and picturesque dunes made it a perfect spot to unwind. Nearby, the Cantinho das Aromaticas provided a delightful sensory experience with its aromatic plants and herbs, which enhanced my appreciation for nature. I took a leisurely stroll through the Nature Reserve Douro Estuary Site, where I marveled at the rich biodiversity and serene waterways that define this coastal region, allowing me to connect deeply with the local ecosystem.
Exploring further, I found the iconic Ponte de Dom Luis I to be a breathtaking marvel, its architectural elegance showcasing the blend of history and modernity in Porto. The Anfiteatro Douro Marina was another gem, perfect for soaking in delightful views of the Douro River while enjoying a leisurely afternoon. Just a stone's throw away, Canidelo Beach and Praia de Salgueiros offered relaxing spots to soak up the sun and watch the world go by. I also appreciated the serenity of Passeio Alegre garden and took in the stunning coastal views from the Lighthouse of Sao Miguel-o-Anjo and the Douro River Lighthouse, which added a sense of maritime charm to my visit. Each landmark in this vibrant area complemented the other, allowing me to experience the unique allure of Porto’s coastal charm.
