Oporto City Flats - Un-Almada House

During my recent visit to Porto, I was captivated by the rich historical and architectural marvels nearby, particularly the Porto Cathedral and the Episcopal Palace of Oporto, both located just a short walk away. The Porto Cathedral, perched atop a hill, offered stunning views of the city and the Douro River, allowing me to appreciate the intricate details of its Romanesque architecture. The adjacent Episcopal Palace further enhanced my experience, with its fascinating blend of medieval and Baroque styles. I also enjoyed wandering through the winding streets around the Fernandine Wall, where the ancient fortifications give a glimpse into Porto's storied past.

Just a stone's throw away, the vibrancy of Praça da Liberdade and Avenida dos Aliados, with their bustling atmosphere and beautifully curated gardens, provided the perfect contrast to the serene historical sites. I loved strolling along the Cais da Ribeira, where the colorful facades of the buildings reflected beautifully in the waters of the river, creating an idyllic backdrop for an afternoon coffee. Additionally, a visit to Mercado do Bolhão was a sensory delight; the lively atmosphere and the abundance of fresh produce and local delicacies truly showcased the heart of Porto’s culinary scene. Finally, a leisurely walk through the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal allowed me to appreciate the landscaped gardens and tranquil views, rounding off a day filled with history, culture, and breathtaking sights.
