Monte Carlo Love Porto

During my visit to Porto, one of the highlights was the serene Capela dos Alfaiates, located just 1 km from my base. This charming chapel, tucked away in the heart of the historic district, captivated me with its intricate stonework and peaceful ambiance. The chapel’s intimate atmosphere, adorned with beautiful tiles and rich symbolism, offered a moment of respite from the vibrant city life. I appreciated its modest size and the sense of history it exuded, reflecting the artisan roots of the neighborhood, which is what made it a perfect stop for contemplation amidst my explorative journey.

Strolling further into the city, I found myself drawn to the bustling Mercado do Bolhão, merely a kilometer away. This traditional market was a feast for the senses, bursting with colorful stalls of fresh produce, local cheeses, and artisanal goods. I loved the lively atmosphere, filled with the sounds of vendors engaging with customers and the aroma of baked goods wafting through the air. It was a fantastic place to soak in local culture and grab some delicious snacks. I spent a delightful time mingling with the locals and sampling treats, experiencing the heart of Porto through its culinary delights.

As I made my way towards the renowned Ponte de Dom Luis I, about 2 km from my previous stops, I was struck by the stunning views it offered. This iconic bridge, a marvel of engineering, provided a picturesque backdrop for the Ribeira Square. Standing there, overlooking the Douro River, I admired the panoramic views of the cityscape intermingled with the natural beauty of the river. Just a short distance away, I visited the historic Bolsa Palace, which further deepened my appreciation for Porto's architectural splendor. Each landmark told its own story, contributing to an enriching narrative of the city, making my exploration unforgettable.
