Impressions

During my visit to Porto, one of my favorite places was the House of the Prince, or Casa do Infante, located a mere half-kilometer away from many iconic landmarks. This historic building, deeply imbued with the cultural essence of the city, offered a glimpse into Porto's royal past. The intricate architecture and rich history—having been a royal residence for the Infante Henry—captivated my interest. Just a short stroll away, I found myself exploring the adjacent Episcopal Palace of Oporto. The stunning blend of medieval and Baroque styles in the palace, combined with the surrounding architecture and vibrant streets, created a picturesque atmosphere that made me feel both connected to the past and enlivened by the present.

After indulging in the historical sites, I made my way to the bustling Mercado do Bolhão, which provided an authentic taste of local life. The market, filled with vendors selling fresh produce, artisanal goods, and traditional delicacies, was a feast for the senses. Further along, the enchanting Livraria Lello—a stunning bookstore famed for its neo-Gothic design and spiral staircase—was an absolute treat for any bibliophile. As I wandered through Avenida dos Aliados and strolled the lush Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, it became evident that Porto offers a captivating mix of history, culture, and vibrancy that I found truly delightful. Each landmark not only showcased the city's unique appeal but also painted a vivid picture of its storied past, making my visit a memorable experience.
