Antero Quental Residence Porto

During my visit to Porto, I was enchanted by the serene beauty of the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, located just 2 km from my accommodation. These gardens provided a peaceful retreat from the bustling city, with their meticulously manicured landscapes and breathtaking views over the Douro River. Strolling through the winding pathways lined with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, I found the perfect spot to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere. The harmonious blend of nature and art, highlighted by the iconic glass pavilion, made it a highlight of my trip, offering a quiet escape amidst the vibrancy of Porto.

Exploring the historic heart of Porto was equally captivating, especially around Ribeira Square and the Porto Cathedral, both just a short walk from the gardens. Ribeira Square, with its colorful riverside buildings and lively atmosphere, drew me in with its lively cafes and stunning views of the river. I enjoyed watching the boats glide by while sipping on a locally brewed port wine. The Porto Cathedral, perched on a hilltop, was a stunning architectural marvel that offered a glimpse into the city’s rich history. The intricate details of its façade and the panoramic views from its terrace were unforgettable, providing a profound sense of connection to the city’s past.

Another gem of my trip was Livraria Lello, also situated just 2 km away. This stunning bookstore, often considered one of the most beautiful in the world, took my breath away with its neo-Gothic architecture and ornate wooden staircase. Browsing through the vast collection of books felt like stepping into a different world, and I couldn't resist picking up a few souvenirs to commemorate my journey. My evenings spent wandering the lively Avenida dos Aliados and the bustling Mercado do Bolhão, where I sampled local delicacies, rounded out my Porto experience beautifully. Each landmark offered a unique glimpse into the soul of Porto, and I left with a heart full of memories and a desire to return.
